The Journey Ahead : Milestones

Disease Management through Genetic Innovation

As we look to the future, our vision for Belahi cows goes beyond preservation — it extends into innovation. One of our foremost priorities is managing diseases that affect cattle health and productivity, especially brucellosis. To address this, we hope to embrace scientific advancements like gene editing technologies, such as CRISPR-Cas9, to develop disease-resistant strains of Belahi cows. By improving their natural immunity, we aim to reduce dependence on antibiotics and vaccinations, creating a healthier and more sustainable breed that can thrive in our region.

Infrastructure Development

Good infrastructure is the backbone of animal welfare. We are committed to constructing modern, hygienic, and weather-resistant shelters for our cows. These sheds will be thoughtfully designed with proper drainage systems, ventilation, and clearly defined zones for the cows that are sick. Such spaces will help prevent the spread of infections and offer a comfortable, stress-free environment for the cows — ensuring both health and productivity.

Nutritious and Sustainable Feed Solutions

Nutrition is a key factor in ensuring the health and longevity of Belahi cows. Our future plans include cultivating organic fodder on-site, introducing supplement-based feeding, and making use of agricultural by-products to create a balanced and cost-effective diet. These efforts will support and robust animal health.

Capacity Building and Skilled Manpower

The success of our initiative ultimately depends on the people behind it. We are committed to building a strong foundation of trained local farmers, and livestock workers. By fostering local expertise and pride, we hope to build a sustainable network of care for Belahi cows — one that will endure and grow for generations to come.
